Biography: Judy Minter
Judy Minter works in a variety of media, including faux finishes, photography, Papier Mâché, Painted ceramics and sterling silver jewelry. She earned BA and MA degrees in Art and Photography from California State University , Long Beach , AA degrees in Interior Design and Architecture from College of DuPage, near Chicago, Illinois.
Judy has been a photographer for McDonnell Douglass Corporation, Instructor of Photography at College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and owned a working studio since 1982. She has taught workshops in faux and decorative painting in Northern California, Chicago, and the Inland Northwest. The last 10 years she has lived in Twin Lakes Village , Rathdrum, Idaho with her husband Michael, and daughters, Alexis and Autumn. Primarily active in faux and decorative painting commissions, exhibiting Papier Mâché sculpture and window trompe l'oeil illusions at Inland Northwest Galleries.
Philosophy:
Take one idea, let it bloom, fly, multiply, file it and start again. Never think you have it mastered, then you stop learning, experimenting, and creating.
